Bright red bleeding 3 weeks after subtotal hysterectomy, sacrocolpopexy and further repairs?

Hi. New to this site and haven't posted before. I'm just over 3 weeks post op for subtotal hysterectomy, sacrocolpopexy with mesh, rectocele repair and perinioplasty. They also removed my right Fallopian tube.

Had very light staining and brown mucky stuff on pad for a week or so and not much since. Today I've just went to bathroom and had bright red bleeding. Should I be worried? Not sure if it's from stitches at perineum or from inside. Help!

Re: Bright red bleeding 3 weeks after subtotal hysterectomy, sacrocolpopexy and further repairs?

Hi Izzybizzy. I think just watch it. I am 12 days post TVH, a and p repairs for cyctocele and rectocele. Plus peri repairs and Tvt. I had a similar experience just last night. Had not bleeding just light discharge for 11 days then a heavy bleed that soaked a pad in 30 mins!! Keep bleeding tapering off for the next two hours after that, and now, 18 hours later, completely back to light discharge again. Also I remember the dr saying I could have a 'break through' bleed, and not to freak out, but can't remember exactly what he said. So in any case, I think if the bleeding doesn't slow down and you keep having to change your pad frequently I'd call someone, otherwise, just note what happened and rest up. Hope all goes well xxx Christine.
