Any vaginal problems after sex/TAH?

Hi ladies,
About a week and a half ago my dh and I had sex like we did before my op. We had done it a couple of times before that but it was slow, not too long, and not too deep. Things were feeling good so we did it like we usually did in the past. But 2 days later I came down with a uti. I chalked it up to "honeymoon cystitis". I took meds for that all last week and it cleared up. But I am still not feeling right. My vagina feels kind of raw. Not sore, but just not right. I don't seem to have in infection. I am really not in any pain - enough to warrant a trip to the dr - but I just feel out of sorts. Do you think that I just overdid it or did I hurt myself? Maybe I am just drier than usual. I haven't had any bleeding or discharge. I am going to Italy next week and I don't want to get stuck over there with problems. Any thoughts?

sounds like you might be suffering from vaginal dryness. this is generally due to a lack of estrogen in the vagina and is usually treated with a vaginal estrogen cream applied once or twice per week.
should the problem continue it would be in your best interest to bring the problem to your Dr's attention, as vaginal dryness due to lack of estrogen can, and usually does, lead to vaginal atrophy, and urethral and bladder problems.

Did you have your 6 week internal check up? If you did and passed, then I'd think you would be pretty sore. I noticed a big difference after taking it easy for the first 3 times. Alot of muscles are used! If you weren't examined you need to get in there.

Granulation set in with me late. I noticed soreness and an achy feeling a few times and the last time wit intercourse there was pain and bleeding. If I was going to Italy on vacation...I'd have another urinalysis done and have that vaginal cuff looked at.

If your ovaries aren't totally awake perhaps the vagina is suffering from dryness. Atrophy is painful...again you must see your doctor because you could have something going on....or you could have over done it!!!! Don't you love it?? It's never easy!
