bowel issues

I am three weeks post LSH and was fine with bowel function until this week. Anyone else have delayed issues with bowels. I am taking stool softner daily and trying to keep fiber intake up. I may have slacked off on liquids a little. Had to resort to fleet enema last night. Also having pain in lower abdomen. When I saw md for post op he said that pain was related to adhesions that I had in that area. I wasn't having bowel issues at that time. I am not sure what to do anymore. Any help would be appreciated.

Have you tried Milk of Magnesia? It's gentler. Just a suggestion. I am currently taking Colace 2x/day and MOM every few days as i seem to have a problem every couple of days. Helps and with no cramping.

Hi Lisa,

It's encouraging to hear you've been okay with bowel function until this week, but I'm sorry you have to deal with it now. Please consider giving your doc a quick call - he could give you some good suggestions for clearing this up. I hope you find the answers you're looking for.
