My omentum??

My doctor just informed me that she would be removing my omentum during the hyst. Has anyone had this done? Does it make recovery harder? Since it stores fat do you lose weigh?? LOL Just wondering Thanks

Heather, my doctor told me she would be taking a sample of tissue from the omentum for biopsy. I don't think she said they would take the whole thing??? Anyone else? By the way I am having total hysterectomy, including lymph nodes for biopsy also.

If I understand my surgical/pathology reports properly, I had the whole omentum taken. I have had no complications and unfortunately did not lose any weight because of it.
