"blister" at top of steri strip

Hi had surgery 3/25, noticed a clear blister at top of incision steri strip itchy there also gotten bigger in the last few hours, was under where the bandaide was. What is it? Left a message for my dr. But has been impossible to reach him since the surgery! His office usally calls back in 2 days! Should we call again this am if no return call? I don't want an infection!

Re: "blister" at top of steri strip

Hi NRY!!! I also got a couple of blisters, (my surgery was 3/17), they have since gone away on their own. I had my staples taken out last thursday, and asked the Dr about it and he said it was no problem. I did have a slight infection at the incision site, but this was unrelated to the blisters. I dont know if this helps or not, but if you are still worried I would keep calling the dr. But as I said, my dr said it was not a big deal and actually is pretty normal!! Good luck!!! Happy Healing!! Cat

Re: "blister" at top of steri strip

catalinacat, I just got back from my dr he says the blisters are an allergic reaction to tape! Took off all tape and steri strips! Looks great! He says I must indicate I'm allergic to tape from now on, so you are probably allergic too!
