Almost 5 weeks post hysterectomy but....Any one else still feel weak and not healed at this point?

it seems that 6weeks is the magical time. It is only this week that I can say that I am starting to feel better. I still get exhausted by 4pm without doing too much. Insomnia is horrible. Just got SSRI and sleep aid 2 days ago. Still have pain on 2 abdominal incision. My job requires lifting and moving of more than 50 pounds with 12 hour work days. I do not feel ready. Plus terrified it will ruin my repair. Any one else still feel weak and not healed at this point?

Re: Almost 5weeks but....

Yes I do... I feel like fire works are going off inside of me and I'm on week 5! I am a hairstylist and every time I try and work a few hours I feel like it sets me back!

I still have some cramping in my right side and I get tired really easily. And the gas is still annoying. But at the same time, I feel pretty good since things are getting better. But I don't feel ready to lift things just yet so I understand what you mean.

I am week 5. Tried to go back to work last week. I teach and am on my feet all day. I was exhausted by 10am! Had to take rest of week off. Still having bladder issues also.

I am five weeks and one day post op and while I feel great for the most part. I am still having some pain and I tire easily not sure six weeks is going to be my magic number but getting there slowly but surely! Back to work in eight days, I'm nervous!

Re: Almost 5 weeks post hysterectomy but....Any one else still feel weak and not healed at this point?

Yes; i am trying to really listen to my body, but I am also going to assume that it's gonna be 8 plus weeks for my body to adjust. I get a bit of everything; pain and achiness, itchy incisions, spotting, tiring out, etc. I can't imagine getting back to a full workout, as I am terrified to attempt anything else except walking. I am afraid to lift anything beyond 10 lb, and can't help but wonder how my body is healing internally; will I have adhesions? Is this random pain normal? Is something gonna tear, all of a sudden? Day by day, right? We just need more time.

Yes, I did feel week at that point. It wasn't until about 8-10 weeks I began to feel strong again. I would try and put off work for a few more weeks. Walk, do body weight exercises and light weights and try to *ease* into strength.

I read up alot on lifting before I started exercising and too much too soon could result in a prolapse.

I found spots in my belly that just *did not * tolerate some exercises especially ones that involved squatting and anything that squished my belly.
About 12 weeks I was rockin it !

I'm a teacher too! I just can't see going back right now. I won't feel comfortable bending and moving around they way I would need to in my 2nd grade classroom. I'm going to wait the 6 weeks.
