period during surgury??

Good morning sisters,
I just got sceduled for aug. 24th and I have been reading alot of post and have gained some really great info. but I do have a question that just occurred to me while reading a post about saying good bye to monthly visits from aunt dot,
I am due to for my visit a day or two before my surgury ( having TVH) can it still be done while your having your period??
this is probably a silly question, but I really have no idea and I don't meet with my dr until the23rd. I'm making myself giggle because of all the things I shoud probably be thinking of this is the one thing on my mind this morning

This usually isn't a problem. I was due for mine too, but it never arrived (can you believe I felt sort of cheated on not having a "last" period??)

Check with your dr just to be sure for your individual case.

Generally if your period starts, you just wear a pad to the operating room - let them know you started -- they've dealt with it before.

I started the day before my surgery. My doc said it's not a problem, it happens all the time.

Please do check with your doc. Mine came close to postponing my surgery because my period arrived 5 days late. Luckily the flow was pretty much over and he was able to proceed as planned.

I had a TVH/BSO and I was on my period. Surgery went on as scheduled.
