Preparation

I'm a "lady in waiting" (9/24/04).

I read the posts here daily and this has really eased my stress. Thanks so much.

Also, just want to let you all know that upon registration at the "castle" for surgery last week, I received also an invitation to attend (free) a (2-hour) preparatory course. I attended last night with about 12 other "ladies in waiting". bgrin: Wow, what a great idea!!!! The class was given by 2 very patient and wonderful nurses. We toured the operating room & anesthesia department as well as the OBGYN unit of the private and semi private rooms. So, well if you get an opportunity to attend such a presentation and tour, please take the opportunity to attend. I learned so much and also had a great deal of ease in knowing exactly where I'll be and how exactly things will be before and after surgery.

Thanks so much for all of you here who have helped me through this----I am sooooooooooooooooooo looking forward to this surgery now. I'd been so tearful----but I don't know why. But, now I'm so ready for this.

Preparation

That's a great idea! If it weren't for these boards, I wouldn't know too much about all this. What a nice thing that they have that prep class. I bet it made it much less intimidating and frightening. Wish I would've had a prep class like that!
I think the waiting is the hardest part. It was very emotional for me. I had my TVH done this past Tues. and I'm just relieved it's over. I'm sure I'll have some emotions to deal with later on after the newness of all this has worn off, but for now, I feel pretty good about it, just trying to heal and take care of myself and be gentle. Thanx for the info and good luck

That does sound good, thanks for sharing. Knowing what to expect does help me too.

Best wishes with your surgery.
