4 Days Post Hysterectomy Operation Feeling OK.

My scheduled 10/30 LAVH turned into a TAH. There was complications with getting the camera in so they had to do an abdominal incision. The fibroids were so big that everything was out of wack and I had scar tissue connecting to my bowel. My doctor called in a team more experienced with the bowel to assist with the surgery. They were able to save my ovaries and I had to keep a part of my cervix. The surgery was almost 5 hours.
Once I woke up, it felt like I had done a million sit-ups and I had to stay in the hospital for 3 nights. I had many people praying for me and GOD saw me through it all.

I'm home now trying to taking everything one day at a time. I've had my first bowel movement today and that scared that me but went well. My husband was there everyday in the hospital and my mom will be here at home with me for a few weeks. I have to learn to listen to my body and rest because I get worn out so fast. I'm wishing everyone a speedy recovery.

Renae I am happy to hear that you are home It looks like you have a wonderful support system and that you are on the right track, on the first BM, one hurdle down Keep doing what you are doing. Keep listening to your body, resting, walking a little each hour that you are not resting, taking your pain meds as scheduled, drinking plenty of water and eating right.

I pray that you have a smooth recovery.
