Re: How did everyone's pre-op appointments go this week?

Had my preop on Monday. The appt went well. Found out I will have a couple more incisions to do the bladder sling. Had my preop physical yesterday. My doctor is so kind and sweet. For once my surgery wasn't trivialized. Went to talk to my counselor today. I have so many things running through my mind. I have to do the bowl prep starting Monday at 12:00. Clear liquids all day Monday. So basically nothing after midnight Sunday. I am going to be such a bear. Surgery is coming right up! Tuesday, March 1st. Best wishes ladies and God Bless.

Then, I get a phone call today from the doctor's office - I am anemic, she wants me on iron pills between now and surgery. I hate iron pills. But, I don't want to have to resort to: taking hormones to get this period to stop, don't want to go to the hospital for a blood transfusion before my surgery, cancelling the surgery for a later date until the anemia is under control. Sorry for whining. I am having a massive meltdown. I had to actually break out my emergency stash of Klonipin. I've already had to change my clothes twice today, and I have only been up for 7 hours.
MissRowena,

If you have to take iron pills try taking Natures Made slow digest iron. They worked great for me and aren't hard on your tummy.
