Post-op tummy sensation

Its going to be 2 weeks since my abdominal Hysterectomy. Have any of you felt like your tummy feels like your jaw does when Novacaine is wearing off, is that normal.

I am worried.

Hi,

Does it feel kind of 'tingly'? It's probably the nerves waking up.

Are you talking about that numb feeling? And that kind of between pain and no pain feeling...sorry...don't know how else to describe it. If so, I believe that's normal for a lot of us. I stil have numb areas on my abd, and I get the little tingly feelings off and on.

Post-op tummy sensation

Its exactly how to describe it. Mine is like an inch above and below the incision...especially down..well, in the hair area. Its like it hurts but doesn't, tingly but well, weird feeling. And its swollen which is shocking since I never thought about the hair area swelling. I can't cross my legs yet which is so annoying. Its the darndest feeling. How long does it take for things to wake up and feel normal?

Post-op tummy sensation

I am at my 6 week mark and I still have some feelings like that. They are much better than they were. Sometimes I even get a burning sensation on my incision. It sounds like it will take a while to really get back to normal. I am more than ready for that day to come.

Post-op tummy sensation

I have a vertical incision and it went thru an array of sensations. Fortunately, pain wasn't one of them. I felt tingly, numbness, itching, tenderness, tenderness, tenderness. Oh, did I mention tenderness? The tenderness and the itching went well beyond the 6-week point. I'm 5 months and I don't even know my incision is there.

Bonella, you described it perfectly. I'm at the 5+ weeks point and still have it. The area is not as large as it was.

Yea, I have it near the top of my incision and on the underside of my big swelly belly. Sometimes when I touch it, it feels like I'm touching another person. I can sort of feel it, but not totally. It has gotten better slowly. I'm 4 weeks post-op today.
