Pain with Intercourse

Ok, I am going to post something that may cause some people to blush. My DH and I tried some intimate time together and it was basically a failure due to pain. Actually the pain felt like a million needles on the top of the vagina. Does anyone else have this type of problem?

Pain with Intercourse

Hi AllBeadz,
I moved you out to the main board here where you can get some support for your question. I think you are going to find you aren't alone in this at all.

I'm wondering if you had clearance from your dr? I'm supposing you did since you are six weeks out. This would normally be enough time, but for some of us it isn't quite enough. I think you should call and talk to your dr about what you experienced and maybe get checked to see if you have granulation or any other reason that would explain the pain.

Was this the first time since surgery? If so it is often not the best right at first but will generally get better with time. It's necessary for most to use extra lubrication because of the tenderness of the area and the apprehension we feel keeps us from being able to respond like we normally might once we know everything is healed. Pain is also not a good component in the whole equation that makes for a good experience.

I had some problems that first time too. I had to go in and have some stitches removed and we waited another week to try to again. Each week it was better. There is some good information in the Post op Sex Checkpoint. I hope there is some information here that will help. Don't be discouraged six weeks is relatively early in the course of what it takes to be back to normal. Let us know how you do.

I am also having a similiar sounding problem, but it is my fiance who feels the needle feeling during intercourse and it also hurts me. It has been 9 weeks for me. Could this be the permanent sutures after a vaginal hystertomy?

Pain with Intercourse

Hi jlovespink,
This was our situation right at first. We drew blood, his, not mine. It was caused by knots to some of the sutures that were like fishing line. I had to go in and have them clipped. My dr said he has seen them as long as a year later, so they can be pretty slow to dissolve.

I suggest you call and let your dr know your problem. If they don't offer to try to clip them I would ask if they will. I think it could take some time for this to go away on their own. After the knots were gone there was still a little bit of scratchiness, but it didn't take long for that to go away.

Good luck with this. It was a bit uncomfortable to have it done, but not real bad. I was only six weeks out though. Let us know what you find out.
