Some hints for the LIW

Here are a couple of things that you can do before your trip to the castle. I know that the LIW to-do lists are already very long, but I found these things helpful.
1. Before you go to the castle, get your shower ready for your first shower as a princess. Put your favorite shampoo and conditioner on a shelf or where you can reach it without bending. Put two bars of soap in the soap dish in case you drop one. Have your favorite towel within easy reach. When you do take your first shower as a princess, ask someone to stay nearby in case you start to feel light-headed. Not necessarily in the room with you, but close by.

2. Set up a bedside or couch-side table with a flashlight, paper, pens, bottled water, TV remote, moist towelettes, pretzels, animal crackers, etc.

3. Get some cash to have on hand in case you need to send your teenager or neighbor on an errand for you.

4. Stock up on all the heavy grocery or pet items your family uses. Try to plan ahead at least 8 weeks.

5. Buy extra postage stamps.

6. Read everything that you can on this site. The women here helped me more than I can say.

I just had a LAVH/BSO and gallbladder removed on July 24. I learned the soap hint the hard way! Thanks to this web site I was very prepared.
