Home from the Castle! THANKS to all of you!

Honeys, I'm home! I was crowned 10/23 and came home Friday. As of Monday, I'm staple-less! I'm doing well, although still a bit bruised and banged up, but considering the junk they took out of me I'm in pretty good shape! I was a triple-crown winner! Endo (much suspected), ovarian cysts (knew they were there) and SURPRISE! fibroids in a uterus that was about three times it's normal size! But the real prize winner was my poor left ovary - almost as large as my uterus, it was covered with endo, cysts and tumor-lets.
Best part - I got pictures! Yes, my sweet doc, being a sister herself, happily obliged knowing I needed to actually SEE what the heck has been causing all my pain for the last 10 years! Very approriate as today's 10/31 'cause they sure look scarey! That left ovary looks like something escaped from the SciFi channel! :eyes: All labs came back neg on the big C so whew! Happy about that!

Shaved my legs today for the first time post op (yikes but those gams were as hairy as DH's!) and quite a feat considering I lost two steri-strips in the process. But I'm stuck on band-aids because now they're stuck on my well-healing 8" vert incision (not her idea - my doc had to clean up from a rather sloppy emergency appendectomy that turned out to be a ruptured ovarian cyst that a very general surgeon performed about 6 years ago.
I'm walking everyday, broadening my horizons every so slightly each day. Today I got past the corner and I'm in the second house from that milestone corner! Other than the slight bruised feeling when I cough, I'm doing great - feeling stronger each day. I really feel good. The old familiar pelvic misery is truly gone! It's been temporarily replaced by a slightly itcy healing seam, but even that's a trade up from the old pain!
That's my update - and it's sent with hearty THANKS and big s to all of you who post on pre-op. You ALL had a hand in keeping me from totally freaking out during this pretty wiggy time in my just-over-40 life! Thanks, too for all the thoughts, prayers and good wishes sent my way pre-op. God bless you all!

Welcome Home!!!!

It's great to hear from you...and it sounds like you are doing just great! It is amazing how much better you feel every single day, isn't it!

Just remember all the good princess rules...keep up your fluids, and watch the gassies, and rest rest rest with feet up after those nice walks.

Keep us updated on how you're doing! Your crown looks great.
