Pre op appt
What do most pre op appointments consist off and when do they usually take place. I am scheduled for LAVH on Feb 14 but have not had my pre op scheduled yet.
The nurse said I would hear from them several times leading up to my surgery but nothing yet except a call saying my insurance was covering100%.
If I remember my dr said I would have some sort of "test" to be sure everything would work because I had all c-sections. Something about making sure they could get through the vaginal area. I suppose I should call Monday to see what is going on.

Re: Pre op appt
I haven't had mine yet but I have had several appointments leading up to it. I just got blood work done because they want to know my iron levels, thyroid etc. I have a cardiologist because of stroke history and a previous heart surgery. On Monday I am going to have a new EKG and other tests. Then my appointment with the surgeon is next week. That is where I will finish all of my paperwork, and I can ask any final questions, get instructions for bowel prep etc. Some women have all of these things done at one appointment but my work schedule won't allow it. It will be fine.

Re: Pre op appt
For my pre-op appointment, they did health screening including blood tests, urinalysis, EKG, blood pressure, height, weight, etc. They also went through the hospital particulars and paperwork.
This is all done because having a hysterectomy is major surgery, and they want to make sure your health is good and that there are no outstanding issues.
