LAVH August 19

My LAVH is tomorrow and I need to give myself two enemas and a douche and believe me I want to do it alone. I am about 1 1/2 done - 1/2 left of the second bottle. Can not seem to do the whole bottle at one time for some reason. Anyway, locked the door, laid on my side on a towel on my bed for comfort with a pillow under my head and started to squeeze. Am watching the Olympics - men's gymnastics - and then when I feel the urge (1-2 minutes is the most I can make it), it takes care of itself. Minorly uncomfortable but nothing to worry about! I am channeling very positive for my surgery tomorrow and sending all my positive vibes out to you who are still waiting for your surgeries. Good luck! I'm heading back in....

Good luck on your surgery Elle63! I am reading these responses and I am glad they are there. I am wondering what is it in the fleet enema that makes you go so quickly?

Smalltownchick - I don't think I want to know what is in the Fleet Enema!!!
My LAVH went well and I came home the next day. No complications and pain that can be controlled by percocet or motrin. Don't worry too much pre-surgery. Not as bad as I thought it would be.

thank u - i tried but ended up doing it on the toilet,then lying down til i got the feeling- i don't feel like i i did it corectly- as little came out. I have to do 2 more and a douche-surgery at 730 am.getting ready for second one wish me luck

I didn't have to use an enema before my surgery but had to do this post op after kidney stones and it was a trip (not a good trip either). I am a fairly big woman (270 lbs) and no matter how much I contorted my body - I couldn't reach my butt to insert the enema and had to get my dh to do it for me. Talk about embarrassing!!! Hopefully I will never ever have to go through that again. Good luck.
