Welcome twin PamIam! you share the day with Zorbella and I!
I hope all goes well for you! I too have started with the house cleaning! Well, more organization than anything but it all will help. Have to get out and get school supplies done too before I go into the castle! Take care!

Looking for August sisters
jooles- we are in the same "boat"
We are "almost" twins in that I'm scheduled for at TAH on 8/28. (We have a long weekend here in the States that weekend so DH can be with me at home for one more day) I have had much the same problems with anemia- down to 7 at one point. My doctor told me that I would be anemic until I got rid of my uterus- large fibroids. I have never known what it is like not to have a heavy flow and be tired for a week or so afterward so it didn't bother me. This last three months have been another story. My fibroid has gone from staying on the outside to the INSIDE of my uterus and things are getting ugly. I haven't had a day without pain for almost three months. The anemia got so bad this last month that I was getting dizzy and light headed and thought I had a virus. Went to my medical doctor and he said I was "low on volume" both fluids and blood. He asked if Ihad ever "considered" a hysterectomy. I told him I had an appointment with the GYN on Friday to discuss that very subject. He told me "I vote yes!". When I saw the GYN and told him I was not sure I wanted it done he said that he asks all of his patients to use the following criteria:
Is your flow/cramping affecting your day to day life so much that you are not able to do the things you want to do and it is affecting the things you do with your family?
Well that helped a bunch! The week before my DH had gotten some much coveted tickets to a race but I was unable to accompany my family because I was so miserable. We are planning a cruise in November and when looking at the calendar, I would spend the whole time in the cabin with a heating pad if I kept my uterus. I DON'T THINK SO!!! That helped me to make my decision and I have had no regrets. I only think of being able to get back to a "normal" life when I've healed and being able to go to events with my family again!
It sounds like our kids are around the same age, my boys are 15 and 11, so I will be anxious to follow your progress.
Have a good one!

EMOTIONS!
Greetings August Sisters!
I experienced something yesterday that took me totally by surprise and wanted to share it with you and see if anyone else has experienced this.... while at work, right in the middle of my day, I broke out in tears while thinking of my surgery August 15th, and realizing that the only physical attachement to my 3 children will be yanked from me!!! I have no idea where this came from because I have never been "attached" to my uterus. Well, never thought I was. This is no way will deter from my decision to have my surgery, but it took me by surprise and I did not know what to do. I have wonderful emotional attachement with my children as all mom's do, but that one part of me where they all began, will be gone!!! I hope I don't sound off the wall! Thanks for listening!
I also found the perfect tummy pillow! Walmart has what they call a "huge" travel pillow-- they are sooooo soft and a perfect size, not too big or too small!
Have a great day sisters! It's almost the weekend!!!

tripletts??
Hey jooles, You, clynn2545(Connie) and I are tripletts! All scheduled on 8/22. We can compare notes! I too am tired of this and just want it to be over. I'm also anemic and I'm tired of being tired. So far I haven't really done anything to prepare except research, make lists, obsess over every little detail and spend a lot of time on this site. Not much really. Yeah, right. I think this is beginning to rule my life.

Looking for August sisters
Hi Funshine:
I have broke down in the frozen food ilse at the stoe these last 2 weeks!
I am NOT attached to my uterus & we have been enemies for years
I attribute it to nerves, anxiety & hormones.
My date is Aug. 14th - 25 days away -
& I made a pillow last weekend.
Try & just go with the feelings & good luck!

Looking for August sisters
I too am due for a TAH, my uterus is the size of a 12 week pregnancy and I do believe from from breast to my belly my body thinks it is pregnant. But it is miserale to be this way and not be pregnant. I am producing way to much estrogen and this has caused my uterus to be full of all this white mass. Had a D&C in May but it is still very uncomfortable. I am an Aug 7th sister and twin. I can't wait till this is over and I can live pain free and a normal(?) life.
Thanks for all the great information and the enjoyable conversation.

Emotions All Over the Place
Funshine, Linda et al:
I think we're all probably going through a greiving process of sorts? After all, the uterus is a very important part of every woman's body. I too have been struggling with the fact that they will be removing the organ that allowed me to bring my two wonderful kids into the world! I do have grief about that. And for me, it is also another step in the process of getting older and being the older generation. I'm 51 and have been struggling with menopausal hormone imbalances for the last 5 years, the drs. say I'm a hard case, and I admit it has been a challenge, still isn't quite right but I am doing so much better now, thanks to a really cool dr.
Anyway, let yourself feel your feelings and don't be embarassed, feelings held inside make us sick so you want to feel the feelings, no matter what they are. And to our friends we can explain about how our hormones are "whacked" and we're feeling emotional, then laugh about it! That's one reason I love this sight so much, we have so much company. This site is so much more informative than the drs. brochures! Kudos to Kathy

emotions 2
Hi everyone! thanks for the thoughts and advice! I have started to realize that it is indeed a grieving process. The closer I get to my surgery, the more I am feeling it. Tried to explain it to my hubby but he is not the same as sharing those feelings with all of you and my close friends here at home. Thanks so much! This support group is amazing!! I have all these friends out there! I am definately dealing with my usual pms hormonal whacko stage too, as my LAST PERIOD is due this coming week- with thoughts of surgery on top of my already hormonal stuff I am a real joy! Ha ha! Thanks to all of you, my fellow ladies in waiting! Wish I could hug you all!!

Hey Funshine:
Read my post on "uterus ruined my weekend"
I can totally relate!!
Hubby & I seem to be on the same page as my date approaches (24 days to go !)
Believe me, we have had our differences,
but I know our relationship is strong & forever, so I know he will be there for me!
He is on his way home so we can go to Target & look for XL paintes (for the the first week) a robe & a "painty girdle". He asked if he could go with me.
Later. . . .
