scared don't know what to expect

I was wondering if there is any thing I can do before my operation to help in a fast recovery? I am having a partial hysterectomy through the vagina and I was wondering how fast I can go back to work. I know the doctor says 4-6 weeks but I have a desk job and I wondering if there is anyone out there that has gone back to work alot sooner. Thanks

You and only you will know how you feel. Try to not push yourself to soon. My sister went back to work (desk job) at two weeks and ended up down for two weeks. I went to work for one day at 10 days, and again at day 17. Both times did me in and set me back. Please take care of yourself. You will probably feel really good at two weeks, but you are still healing for months not weeks. With our type of hysterectomy we need to remind ourselves we had surgery since there is not an incision to remind us. Good Luck to you, take it easy when the time comes, it is not very often you get to be a princess.

scared don't know what to expect

Everyone is going to heal and feel better at different times durring their recovery. I am 3 weeks post op from my TVH/BSO/TVT. If I could go back for 1/2 days I could probably do OK. But...I do not think I could sit at my desk for a full 8 hours. I would check with your doctor as you get closer to your 4th week of recovery and let him help you make that decision. I agree with a lot of the other sisters who have had our surgery. It is VERY easy to forget you had major surgery. Not just for us but, for others around us. Stay down and recover right the first time. Best wishes on your journey.
