Please help choosing an option for heavy bleeding: Novasure or Mirena? Second opinion?

I have been having heavy bleeding every since may 23,2015. I have been given 2 option 1) novasure 2) merinea. I want another option as my dr is leaning towards the novasure

You might mention what the diagnosis is. Does your doctor know what might be causing your bleeding? That could help people better answer your question.

In March of this year I had the Novasure and Mirena done at the same time for really heavy bleeding and pain so bad it would have me in tears. For me nether have helped the pain at all if anything the pain is worse but it has stopped the bleeding all together which is good. I am now waiting to see when I can have a Hysterectomy which is what I wanted in the for place. At least I know That I have tried everything. Not sure if this really helps you.

I'm twelve weeks out from myomectomy, ablation and mirena insertion together. I am super happy with the results so far. My periods have been reduced to mild spotting and cramping is barely there. I had successfully had mirena a few years back so that wasn't a concern for me.

A second opinion was helpful in my case since the first doc felt my flooding, pain and exhaustion was no big deal. Best wishes in making your decision.

I had the mirena for ovarian cysts and to help with heavy bleeding.
I was satisfied with the result - no period and ovarian cysts did not get worse but I developed high blood pressure and water retention as well as increased migraines.
I had the mirena removed after around a year and ultimately got surgery.
