tomorrow's the day--hangin' in

Guess I'm finally down to "the day." The week has been trying...I picked up the flu that's been going around, so have been monitoring my temp really closely...but it looks like it's a "go" for tomorrow morning. I talked with my doctor's office this morning....the PA I talked with said that there were no symptoms left that they were worried about, but did warn me that the anesthesiologist would have the final say about that tomorrow morning. Sigh. She just told me to lay low for the day, and drink lots of fluids. So I am.

I'll be heading out to my cousin's house for the night in an hour or so, and will go to the hospital from there. (I live about 70 miles out, and she's alot closer.) That's where I'll be spending the first few nights after the hospital as well. I don't know how much computer access I'm going to have there (and don't know how much I'm gonna want to be on the computer!), so this is probably my last post for awhile (unless, of course, the anesthesiologist decides to postpone.)

I'm way more calm--right now--than I expected to be. I've spent so much time the past few days sweating whether I was going to be well enough to proceed, that maybe the reality that it's happening hasn't really settled in. We'll see how I get through the night. I have an early check-in--5:30!--given I'm normally a late riser, maybe I'll still be kinda asleep until they knock me out. I can always hope!

Your prayers are so appreciated!

Thanks for all the support and info for the past week or so. Best wishes to all the others facing surgery this week. I'll see you on the post-op side!

I hope everything goes smoothly for you tomorrow! I felt such a sense of relief to finally have the wait over.
