dVH/RALH: Upcoming hysterectomy 3/4: One last hurrah for my uterus...

Surgery one week from today. This month my period came early on Feb 1st. Guess who's trying to sneak back in early! Yep, I'm spotting today which means that witch will be here tomorrow. I've read the other posts from you guys that had the same thing happen. How in the heck does our uterus know we're kicking it out? Ugh, I hope this week isn't too painful or too heavy. Ha! Who am I kidding? I remember when I decided on my hysterectomy in December. I knew March would be the month. I was like, yeah only 2 more periods. Oh, how wrong I was. It's okay. I can do this. One more period.

Oh the cruel irony of fate - and a disgruntled uterus too.

But you are strong and have a sense of humor, so you will get through this.

I'm on continuous birth control and started having breakthrough bleeding today. I think my uterus got the memo that it's being evicted and wanted to get in one last kick before getting yanked out. It's never liked me, and I've never liked it. This is one more reminder why.

I too was on continuous birth control and thought I had a free month before my hysterectomy to have fun before the big vacation after surgery. Wrong! Breakthrough bleeding started the day after the dr set the surgery date and never stopped. Like having a period for a month. I (and the hubby) was so mad! However, I think it made me appreciate being able to have the opportunity to have this procedure available. I'm still recovering and it's not easy but I am grateful and already feel comfort in the fact I won't have the unpredictability to deal with. Let her have the last harrah! You'll laugh last anyway! It seems once I received my surgery date, my menses caught an attitude. I haven't seen her since January 13th, she lasted approx 10 days, then all the sudden, she wants to rear her ugly head. Something told me she was gonna show up full blast and stay up until my surgery. But guess what, she's laughing now, but I'll most definitely have the last laugh .....!

Yeah, it's funny because I just looked back at my period tracker. She came early starting in January too. Right after my Dec. 28th appointment where we decided on the hysterectomy. lol It's also been a heck of a lot worse the past couple times. Longer, heavier (didn't think that was possible), and more painful (didn't think that was possible either). So, I'm hoping this week isn't too bad. I want to be able to get some stuff done around the house before my Mom gets here on Thursday so I'm prepared.
