If there is a way to release the gasses that can be caused, then, yes you can smell any gasses produced. My bad - I thought I had put that in my answer! Sorry!!

Montana - not good to go through all of that. I have had several infections since my op and two lots of granulation tissues dealt with. I am still contending with a myriad of other problems related to the surgery now. Wondering if I should have even had it done in the first place as more problems now than before. Only relief has been the no bleeding which I was doing daily for over a year before hyste. Still having to deal with a discharge etc etc.
