Gas question - As if there are not enough threads about bowel function.
Okay so we all know we have serious gas production factories in our bowels by now. But mine is very noxious, I mean the kind that will burn of your eyebrows....  The first 2/3 days postop it was just odorless but ever since then it has not let up. I am following a good diet not overly much protein which would traditionally be the cause.
I am just asuming everyone else have the same thing or is it just mine.

Hehe, yah actually mine has been that way too. I wonder what that's all about. I didn't really think about it, but after you mentioned it, YEP! I'm pretty tired of being a stinky girl haha.

I think it is from the pain meds... I wouldn't try to hold it in... that could get painful... Try to excuse yourself and go to the bathroom if you can, but sometimes they just "sneak" out... All we can do is laugh...

I'm 5 weeks post op and still have STINKY gas - there are times I have to leave the room. I haven't been on any pain meds for over 2 weeks but I am still taking a stool softener, so I've been attributing the odor to that.
I'm going back to work next week - too bad I can't bring the dog with me !

LOL, if I had a dog I would too blame it on the dog. When I finally go back to work I would be able to take the dog with me. We have a very dog friendly enviroment and have a dog visit every couple of weeks.....mind you I work in a bank!!! LOL

I am with ya ladies it is the walking motion that brings it out the most... an yes the pain meds to cause the gas. There is no way around it...enjoy letting it out.

I have horriable gas too. Do you think it is from the stool softners? Or all the fiber (at least I'm trying to eat additional fiber to make things move) we are eating?
