Does anyone else have an odd Odor/smell in there nose?

Does anyone else have an odd Odor/smell in there nose or following them around that does not necessarilly come from the Vaginal area? I swear, I smell a sort of Burnt hair like odor on my hands(palm sweat) or coming from my pores/sweat? My urine is strong, BM's have odd chemical or similiar smell. It is not pungent like sweat or BO.. Just an ODD, annoying smell that I cannot get rid of. It does not matter if I am sitting with legs crossed. fully clothed, blanket over my Lap.. it is not a fishy.. Yeast infection-y , vaginal odor smell. I swear it is something stuck in my nostrils since surgery.

I know this may sound a bit odd , but could you have a sinus infection? I myself suffer from chronic sinusitis and allergies and I have one right now. I too will get that nasty smell in my nose and then will have to go on a course of antibiotics. Other than that I really do not know.......Hope you figure it out!

I found that for a week after there was an odor. Someone explained to me it was the anesthesia and narcotics leaving your system. I never had an infection and after a bit the smell went away.

I know when to change my patch because I smell smoke and petrol which is not there. It is highly disturbing, and is the result of chemical changes in the brain. But you still have your ovaries....

I experienced the same thing for the first couple weeks post-op. It's normal for senses to change a bit during times of hormonal change, and it takes over a week for the anesthesia to completely leave the body, too.

It won't last forever, but it is definitely odd while it does.

Hey, I have a friend that at 3 weeks out claimed that she could not leave the house and had to shower multiple (3xper day). I have not gotten there yet,(I'm 2 weeks post-op) but I have such a freak-out in regards to odor. I too may follow her path. Good Luck and take care.

I have the same issue as Karezee. The smell I get is similar to car exhaust. It's horrible. Glad I'm not the only one, but sorry you get it too!

I have been experiencing the same thing! I am going into week 4 post op and the smell had greatly diminished. Every now and then it still kinda pops up, but that smell freaks me out! I don't want people to come around me because I don't want anybody to think I stink or I haven't been bathing. That is definitely not the case! But I hope it gets better, even if just for the peace of mind! Happy Healing!

Hi...Are you taking pain meds?Maybe it could be that. I'm 11 days post op...I smell an odor too,but its from the vagina.I have had pink and brown discharge for a few days now.did you keep your ovaries?It could be a hormone thing. Good luck maybe mention it to the doc. Karen

Just to clarify - I don't smell like car exhaust (at least I think I don't)... I just have a car exhaust-like smell in my nose.
