Gas question - As if there are not enough threads about bowel function.

I think maybe the meds play a part too. I have not taken any stool softners. MOM a few times and boy did that increase my gas output I could have powered Texas. But I am on third day of Ibuprofen only, just Perc's at night today I only had gas a few times...

....just a thought.

Gas

I have been taking Target brand xtra strength gas x and it has helped to releive all gas pressure from the begining to now day 26. It is an over the counter and it does really work. Good Luck.

Acidophilus Is The Answer!

I had to take antibiotics for post-op fever and it killed all the "good" bacteria...which will give you a very foul bowel and gas odor...but taking 2 billion/unit caps (2 caps 3x day) of acidophilus (a pro-biotic), will fix it in no time. It's something one can do lifetime as well for good intestinal health. After daily use, you will eventually have little or no odor to your stool. Great intestinal flora/health.

Odor may be due to something else, i.e., the pain pills, poor diet, no diet (I had nothing but water, cranberry juice and soup the first week, just couldn't tolerate solids), then moved onto protein packed banana/yogurt smoothies I made...am now back to solids (17 days post-op) and have great intestinal well-being.

Hope this helps.

My DH used to say, "Wow I'm proud of you." Now he just runs from the room gagging!
