Will know on the 19th if I'll be a princess soon...

Hello!

I have discovered this wonderful forum a while ago and posted about having a hysterectomy before moving house (probably overseas too). And I am a Type 2 diabetic.

Last November we moved house only.

But we have just accepted a job in Canada so we are going HOME!!!!!! - In August. So quite soon.

But just can't cope with that stupid fibroid anymore. When I lift something I bleed. Pain is down my right leg now. I sneeze and I wet myself. Oh the joy!

I have seen my diabetes doctor this week (he thinks I am anemic I am soooo tired. Exhausted really) and he says I am fit, I am healthy, I should recover quickly. I only have to keep a tight control of my sugars. Control is pretty good at the moment.

So it's up to the specialist now. I am going privately so I could be under the knife very soon, within days of the 19th. I am ready. I sure wasn't last year! Scared. Lost. I totally freaked out. Now there are mornings when I feel I could do that hysterectomy myself because I just can't cope anymore. With the pain. The bleeding. Stupid fibroid, I could just kick you!!!

So here I am. Again!

Am I crazy thinking I could have that hysterectomy beginning of June and move back home in August?

PS : I have searched high and low on the Internet but can't find how much time the op lasts for? How many hours are we on the operating table do you know?

PS2: Something that really bothers me and I wonder if you guys feel that way too... When I mention to people I may have a hysterectomy soon they go OUT OF THEIR WAY to tell me horror stories. Now why do people do that???!!?

Thank you all for your time. Take care!

Hi, no I don't think that you're crazy. I don't blame you for wanting an end to your problems. I do think that you won't be ready to do a lot of heavy lifting for the move so you might want to ask friends or hire someone to do that for you. How exciting to get to move back home

Th surgery time can vary greatly from person to person, depending on the type of hyst and what all is to be done at the same time. I had a tah/bso and my op was just short of 2 hours. Your dr should be able to give you an estimate.

About the next question - I have NO idea why people have the need to tell us their horror stories. But, I had several do that too. Here, you can read both good and not so good. I have no regrets about my hyst and have healed well with no bad complications.

Best wishes, please keep us updated.
