incision scar

I had a TAH on March 7th, and my scar is still red, sore and hurts to touch it. I still feel some pulling or pinching on occassion with movements. Is this common at this point?

I don't have an answer for you, but am interested to see what others say. I had a TAH on April 3rd and the last two days I am having more discomfort on the left side of my incision than I did. It almost feels like it's pain from inside rather than the incision itself. I worry that I've done some damage inside. It's been just over 4 weeks for my TAH. Anyone out there have a similar experience? Hopefully, this is normal and nothing to worry about.

Twisting pulling and swelling all sounds very normal to me at the point you are at in your recovery. However if the pain is localised or the redness is new it could signify an infection. I had two areas of infection which were treated with anibiotics at around this time. I still have pulling and burning sensations at twelve weeks post op and have been told that this is perfectly normal especially after exertion. However you will still be on lifting restrictions. If the pain is new or troubling you you should contact your doctor. Best wishes

Thanks ladies for all the help. This site and everyone are awesome and I love the advice and encouragement I find here. Makes me feel alittle better knowing I'm not alone with these issues. Hugs...
--Thanks Bagpuss45, I never really thought of an infection. At this point figured I would be past that possibility.
--Flower62, I also have the numb and tender tummy and hate the feeling of it when I lean against anything. I have also heard up to a year for the numbness, but I hope the swelly belly doesn't take that long.
--Twistedone, Not sure, but the pain you describe sounds like the same thing I had. It just always seemed to be there. I was told by a friend that is was probably my internal stitching healing.

Same here as you. Dr said it was normal. The incision although closed actually heals from the inside out, which can take 3-6 months depending on how many times it has been opened etc. I had a lap done in July of last year, when they did a ultrasound right before my surgery, I had no idea it was gonna hurt like it did when they put pressure on the incision to get better view of internal organs.

snugglebearss-Thanks and makes me feel better to know this is normal. Makes sense I guess when you think of all the cutting and healing that needs to happen. Your just a week behind me....hope your feeling good and everything is working well for you.
