2 days post tvh - op

I'm a now!!!!


I'm feeling pretty good overall. Surgery was on 6/15 and I was discharged home yesterday afternoon. I would have to say overall, I had a pretty pleasant experience. The dr and anesthesiologist (sp?) wheeled out my of my room and and I was knocked out before we made it to the surgery room. LOL! Whatever the anesthesiologist put in my IV kicked in quickly!!! All I remember was them wheeling me out of my room and the next thing I knew, I was in recovery. LOL!

I wasn't in too much pain after surgery. I rated my discomfort a 2 out of 10 immediately after surgery but later on that night, my pain elevated to a 5 or 6. The nurse was great about getting my pain under control and gave me a dose of oxycodone and ibuprofen, so I've been feeling comfortable ever since. The meds are making me very groggy so I'm sleeping...alot! I'm still waiting for the missing BM! I've taken a couple of stool softeners and I'm eating a lot of fruit so hopefully, I will get some relief soon. I'm having very little spotting and no cramping so I'm having a pretty uneventful recovery. Yay!!

I'm home now, resting. My husband and children have been absolutely wonderful caring for me. I'm feeling very fortunate to have such a supportive family. I received a beautiful floral arrangement from my co-workers this afternoon. That was a very pleasant and appreciated surprise.
