Taking my own advice: UPDATE

I gave my doctor one last chance to impress me.

Ironically, I had my pre-op testing today...and at the same time, I was waiting for her to call and see how she felt about things after actually looking at the surgical notes and talking to someone. Well, she called just under the YOU FIYAHED deadline.

She had a whole different attitude.

Apparantly, she had looked over the notes, talked to a specialist, AND attended a conference over the weekend whose focus was on endometriosis.

She's dealt with endo before, but I'm thinking that maybe, somewhere in all of this, someone told her she was jerking me around about having kids and putting my health second, and that it wasn't right.

I asked her THE question: "Are you sure you're comfortable performing this surgery for me now?" Her answer was yes. Her tone of voice, which now seemed to be more about the gravity of the situation, backed that up.

We agreed that both ovaries might as well go. Why go through all of this and leave significant risk behind, right?

Guess I better head on over to the Hormone Jungle for more reading.

Thanks, ladies, for giving me the confidence to push back when I felt I was being mistreated.

Well Done (((CartoonChick)))!

I love how you set your time limits for response and asked her "THE" question w/ just enough finess. Awesome! Nice Job s

I know I am repeating myself, but; care co-managed between you and your Dr., is the very best care.

I'll bet you've a better Dr./Patient relationship now too.

Much Love,

Good for you girl. You've made me proud.

I hope that everything goes well for you from here on. I'm sure your doc now knows that you are a force to be reckoned with.

Take care hun.
