Very swollen above incision?

I'm about 13 days post op from TAH. Healing has been going well and I've been resting. I haven't done anything I'm not supposed to. Yesterday I noticed I had some swelling above my incision. No biggie...chalked it up to smelly belly. Well...I made sure to take extra care and rest today even more so. My concern is that the swelling has doubled. No fever, no redness, no hot to the touch. But the swelling is along the length of the incision about 3 inches up towards the belly button. I have had some sharp pains but not sure if its just the healing process. I also feel like I pulled a muscle on the left side of my stomach. Any one else had anything like this? Should I be alarmed? Not sure what to make if it? Any input would be great! Thanks!

Re: Very swollen above incision?

Also my swelling almost covers my incision...to kinda give an idea ....I've small framed and the swelling is easily outlined when I turn side ways...almost makes my stomach look disfigured :-/

Re: Very swollen above incision?

This is totally normal and will go down in time and by time, I mean in a few months. I had the exact same thing and was pretty horrified at the look of my tummy, not that I am about to wear a bikini or anything at my age, but I do take pride in my appearance. It took about 8 to 9 months before my tummy flattened for the most part. If it was flat before, it will go down and become acceptable. I hope this helps.

Re: Very swollen above incision?

Same thing with my belly. The top is flat, the incision area is swollen the bottom is flat. I look like I have a huge roll. It will go away....just think of all the internal horror you just went through.
