any weight watchers out there? and the cervix

The following list of abbreviations is from FYI: Herbs not to take, Abbreviations Used, Where to Post hints, Chat Info, Posting and Net Etiquette located at the top of this forum

  Quote:
This website has been up almost 3 years! (I can't believe it!!) THrough the years we've adopted many abbreviations from the net that we use easily. They are easy to type and easy to understand.

For the most part!

Recently, in the past few months, one of our well used abbreviations has changed meaning by a few members and the confusion has begun! Here is the list to help...so that we don't scratch our head and wonder what the member meant in her post!

TAH (total abdominal hysterectomy)
BSO (bi-lateral salpingo oopherectomy) ....removal of both tubes and ovaries
RSO (right ovary, tube removed) (LSO-left side removed)
TVH (total vaginal hysterectomy)
LAVH (laproscopic assisted Vaginal hyst)
SAH (Subtotal Abdominal Hysterectomy or Supracervical ab hyst)
LSH (laprascopic supracervical hyst)
HRT (hormone replacement therapy
NHRT (natural hormone replacement therapy)

DH ( dear husband)
DS (dear son)
DD (dear daughter) <---this is the one causing confusion!
Dr or MD (doctor)

LOL (laughing out loud)
ROFL (rolling on the floor laughing)
BTW (by the way)
IMHO (In my humble opinion)

These abbreviations are used all over the net and we've just taken them in as our own, including DD (daughter!) Lately when the members have assumed this DD must mean doctor...they type interesting posts about their DD doing their surgery and the rest of us scratch our head and think...WHAT?? Their daughter is doing their hyst for them??
If you are leaving your cervix you are having SAH, not TAH. If you've been told or have signed papers authorizing a TAH you should check with your DR's office.

any weight watchers out there? and the cervix

I joined Weight Watchers two weeks ago. So far I have lost 5.4 pounds and hope to continue down the weight loss path! I am also concerned on how my body will handle the HRT's, if they will cause me to gain weight, I sure hope not. Good luck to you and let me know how things go.

jennifer -- congratulations on your WW weight loss! let's both hang in there and see to it that we don't gain unnecessary weight from our trips to the castle! i went to my weekly meeting last night and was up 1.8 lb. i had a bad week and haven't been exercising -- that's key. i'm a lifetime member and feel sure that you, too, will become a lifetime member. keep up the good work. i'm about to head out in the snow for a walk with weights. and i'll just have to watch it after surgery. thanks for your post, writer.
