Interstim Therapy

Anyone have any experience with this? Success/failure?

Hi,
I was very interested in your post and disappointed to see that there were no replies. I am scheduled for the 1st phase (test phase ) of interstim nest week. I had been waiting for a couple of months to get an appt for this at the major medical center a couple of hours away from here. I was very frustrated that I still had not even received a call to schedule - I guess this is not a priority in their minds even tho it is causing major havoc in my life - when I discovered a Dr. right here in my home town who just started doing this. My only concern is that I am only his 4th patient for this. Well I am hoping and praying that this will help. If anyone else out there has any experience PLEASE reply. I'll let you know how it goes for me.

Since nobody's been able to offer you guys any advice from this website, check out www.ic-network.com. There are numerous patients on thaht site who currently have or have had the Interstim implant.

I wrote a question to the doctor on the Pelvicfloor.com website back in August/September about the interstim implant. He said it is the 'Gold Standard' for frequency problems. I can't remember what else he said, but look it up in the 'forum'. My doctor said it is very successful and a trial basis is done for a week and if it works, it is then implanted permanently. Good Luck - thankfully, I ended up not needing it, surgery took the frequency away. Hugs.
