Anyone still bleeding 3 wks post op??

I had my TAH on Sept 24 and came home spotting then 1 1/2 week into it I "began regularly bleeding" like Im having a period..but they took everything out...Ive been back to the dr. twice and they say there is no reason for me to be bleeding...my blood count is low and I have had a bladder and kidney infection. Dr. said maybe Im overdoing it but I have been on the couch 75% of the 3 wks!! I'm really worried about this bleeding thing..anyone else find this "normal" help??

Anyone still bleeding 3 wks post op??

I am 5 weeks tomorrow and I still have spotting. I saw my doctor at 4 weeks and she said it was normal then so I am assuming nothing is wrong now. I hope you stop bleeding soon I know how frustrating it is. I have heard sometimes when stitches are really tight they can cause some bleeding but I don't know if thats true. Good Luck.

Anyone still bleeding 3 wks post op??

I too started bleeding and changing pads 4 to 5 tmes a day starting on day 11. I bled continuously until my 6 week post op appt. The day before, it stopped. I was told that my bleeding was normal that it was the blood leaving the body.............I know how you feel, it really was frustrating I had to buy 5 packs of pads during that time...........

Anyone still bleeding 3 wks post op??

I am 5 weeks out tomorrow from a LAVH and I am still bleeding some. Around week 3 it got very heavy to the point of considering a trip to the ER and I passed several large clots. At my 4 week check up my DR applied silver nitrate and since then the bleeding has slowed down to more of a brownish discharge. I'm hoping that it will stop one day soon cause that was one the perks!! Good luck

Anyone still bleeding 3 wks post op??

I barely spotted for the first 2 days in the hospital and then nothing until last night. It isn't much but I started spotting at 1 week post-op.

I also didn't start spotting until day 9 after my surgery. I though I had gotten lucky and wouldn't have any bleeding and then there it was. Just think positive everyone at least we don't have any more periods after this.

I guess I was lucky - I just had a bit of bleeding while I was in the hospital nothing much since I have been home. I am now 1 week post-op and new to all this and not even sure what to expect. I would suggest you at least dial-a-nurse or call the doctor and be safe.

I would check with your doctor. I will be 5 weeks post op tomorrow and my bleeding stopped completely within 7 days after my hysterectomy. I had my 4 week check up last week and that was one of the first questions out of my gynecolgists mouth. Lisa
