A few questions

I'm 29 and have my hysterectomy the 13th. I am fortunate to have a Dr who uses the da Vince surgery. I have a few questions. 1) will sex feel different with no cervix? For me and for my husband? (2) my dr said that I won't go through menopause bc he's leaving one ovary, he said I will just have it a few years earlier than my body would have done, is this true from experience? That's all for now, I'm sure I'll have more soon! Thanks ladies!

Re: A few questions

HI
Wishing you all the best for your surgery!
Re cervix - I have not noticed a difference and my hubby says he can't feel any difference after a few months - initially he just felt like my muscles weren't as strong as I was recovering, but he couldn't actually feel the physical removal of anything. You just need to take it slow and gentle for a while as you get back to full fitness.

Re: A few questions

Thanks! That's a relief! I have missed the wonderful times my hubs and I used to have as I will ease back into it of course but great to know we will have those wonderful times again and they will feel just as good for us both!

Re: A few questions

My surgery was almost a year ago and sex is back to better than ever. Neither my husband nor I notice any difference with no cervix, and I was soooooooo afraid that it would feel different! I can't really comment on the other, since I kept both of my ovaries. I will say the "mini menapause" that my body went through after surgery was no picnic, but a year out now all the symptoms went away and I simply experience a time each month where I'm weepy and emotional, just like before surgery but OMG no bleeding for weeks on end! I love love love my life after hyster. cannot express how much better I feel and how much more energy I have then before. Good luck to you!!!
