Re: Dr. Oz addresses prolapse!

I watched the show! In fact I was excited that this was going to be talked about! This segment wasn't even Prolapse 101. It was awful. When they said this "disease" I stopped for a moment and had to consider that no, I didn't have a disease! Excuse me! Is a hernia a disease? No. Dr. Oz should have corrected that statement. I was also quite surprised that they didn't get into different types of surgeries for this condition. I suppose just opening up this topic on the show might give some women, who are petrified to talk to their doctor about this, some courage. I know I tried talking to my Gynecologist and my Internist and they both took it very lightly. I actually had to ask to see a Urogynecologist. Anyway, I'm sure Dr. Oz and the show meant well. I think I will email him and hope you all do too. He may do another segment on what to do about it...

Re: Dr. Oz addresses prolapse!

While I didn't expect Dr. Oz to go into great detail, and I'm glad he at least presented POP for discussion, he should have corrected the urogyn who said it's a disease! And he completely gave misinformation when he showed the organs BREAKING THROUGH the vaginal wall-that NEVER happens! I think misinformation is worse than making the public aware of it!
