Please help me- ultrasound results: I'm scared

Had 2 transvaginal US. One US REPORT STATED: simple cyst. The second said: 4 cm hypoechoic right adnexal mass on ovary. What does this mean? I'm scared. I have an 11 y/o daughter with no support system. Please help. Have history of fibroids, ovarian cysts ( simple)

Re: Please help me- I'm scared

I know it can be so scary when there is not an explanation with it. I googled it. The term seems to mean it shows up dark on the ultrasound but this is what I could find. Hope it helps

"Hypoechoic cysts are common and are usually benign. It basically is just a membrane full of fluid, like a water balloon. These cysts occur monthly in all women and usually resolves around the period when pregnancy does not occur."

Re: Please help me- I'm scared

air force? wow Do you just have the one daughter? I'm so sorry you are going through this and are feeling alone...it makes it so much heavier. try to not worry until a doctor can explain it, their language is so foreign to us 'normal' folks

Re: Please help me- I'm scared

I've had them and they aren't anything to worry about.

Many, many years ago I had an MRI on my brain, read the report and pretty much gave myself a nervous breakdown. What I have since learned is to read it once and ask questions and then walk away. It's so easy to get obsessed with doctor reports and medical conditions. Talk to your doctor and trust your instincts.

Don't worry yourself..... (((big hugs))) to you and your kids.

90% of the battle sometimes is mental.
