Magnesium Citrate

I just drank the stuff almost two hours ago, I agree about holding your nose. I could hardly finish it. It reminded me of my DD lime salt, only much much stronger. I drank a bunch of water.... so far nothing. I'm not worried enough to go out and buy another bottle though, one is enough. What a baby i am! LOL

Bowel Prep

I was totally freaked out by the bowel prep. My advice will forever be that the sooner (day before is my best recoomendation) you start a liquid diet, the easier. Liquid in, liquid out, know what I am saying?
By all means, stay close to the pot. Keep a book in there if you need to, and certainly, my best wishes are with you!

Mag Citrate

I mixed mine with 7-up, drink it cold and YES the straw is a must.

I had to drink the mag cit as well. I had the lemon lime only because a girlfried picked it up for me and decided that would be the best. I don't know what other "flavors" were available. I HAD to chug-a-lug it straight down. I knew if I stopped I'd have a difficult time cramming the rest down. So I just drank as much as I could and more. When I stopped, darn, there were still about 2 ounces left. I just did it again and finished it off.

As to length of time, it varies with everyone. It said on the bottle 30 minutes to 6 hours. I was the 6 hours. I took it at 1:20pm and nothing happened until 7:30pm. Oh, not too bad, I thought! Then at 10pm I started again and sat in the bathroom for the next hour! Then twice during the night and again before leaving for the hospital. I thought by taking it early in the afternoon by the time I went to bed I'd be totally done. Good thing I didn't wait til evening which is what I was told!

Don't forget!

Get something soothing for your bottom. Tucks, vaseline, whatever will make it feel better, gets pretty sore, especially if you already have hemms.

Magnesium Citrate

Yep. I just had to take 2 bottles of it this past Sunday. I got the lemon flavored one and mixed it with Fresca. I really couldn't tell the difference. All I could taste was the Fresca.

I will have to take this the day before my surgery too.

Can anyone tell me what is a good time of day to start it?

I don't want to be up all night, I have other plans...hehe

When to start...

I was told to start at noon and drink it every 10 minutes until gone. I would say that I was done visiting the bathroom on a 20 minute schedule by 6 pm. That would allow for "other plans", but definitely consult your doctor first.

I don't think I have ever drank anything that tastes worst. The only thing that kept me from throwing it back up was the thought of having to start over. Yuck!!! Maybe you should do "something special" the night before in case it works into the night.
