Yellow discharge?? Normal??

Hi patsfan,

The yellow is often dissolving stitches earlier on, but this seems like a long time for it to be that. Mine stopped at about 6 to 7 weeks. It would be good to call your dr and check it out. Sometimes the yellow discharge can mean something else, like yeast or even an infection.

Yellow discharge?? Normal??

I am 12 wks TAH. 2 wks ago I did the same question. A lot of us said we had drainage the same as yours. But then we started going to our MD's. Several of us had granulation tissue which needs to be treated (usually with silver nitrate). One person had a polyp develop. I would suggest you call your MD. Hopefully it is something that can be easily treated. I think I need to go in for a second treatment. Take care.

Yellow discharge?? Normal??

I agree. I'm one who had yellow discharge start about week 3( disolving stitches i thought ), but still had it at week 14. Granulation and nitrate treatment is what happened next. We never know what amount of discharge will be normal for us post surgery. Seems that the color is the clue. My doctor said normal discharge should be clear to white...not yellow.

I thought I might have granulation because eventually intercourse was painfull and the last time I had nice bright red blood!!! If you end up with granulation also, the nitrate treatment wasn't bad. I was surprised though, to see quite a bit of the silver goo for the next 4 days.

And.........if it's a low grade infection... you for sure want to know that!

Have this checked out...it's sure worth the piece of mind.
