Bummed out! Spotting and cramping 5 weeks post hysterectomy

Hi all. Feeling a bit bummed out this week. 5 wks post op. I originally spotted only a bit the first wk post op. Then had nothing days 8-19. Spotting started around day 19 and has continued, but is light. I get cramping if I try to walk or do too much. One night I had to take pain killers. Not sure if this is spasm? Doc said light spotting ok, but only that. He said nothing about cramping. Any one else experiencing this?

Hi Lydia, yes very common! If you search 5 or 6 wk post op pain or spotting, you will find tons! Same happen to me... it's the healing of sutures, and the combo of moving around more etc. It lasted a couple weeks for me. Even passed a few stitches. It gets better! Rest and fluids, I also used a heating pad on my tummy during that time. Hugs
