Hi Ladies

I would really recommend keeping a daily diary of your recovery.

I found it handy to refer back to when I was a few weeks down the track and not healing as fast as I'd like. When I looked back I could definitely see I was improving albeit rather slowly. Made me feel a lot more encouraged. Even for the ladies who heal quickly it can make interesting reading at a later time. It's amazing what you forget if you haven't written it down too!!
Can't blame it all on brain fog either it's just that there's quite a lot happening to you all at once.

That's a great suggestion, Lynne, and you can buy a journal from the Hystersisters store! Just click on the "store" button at the top left and take it from there.

Again, great idea

I completely agree with this suggestion. I wish I would have kept a daily journal. I had problems w/my memory before surgery and then when I factor in the 'brain fog'..........What was I saying?

This is a great idea! I wish I would have done it. I'm 9 months post and can't remember the smallest things. I started to tell someone here when I went back to work and now I can't remember if it was 10 or 8 weeks post. I've probably said both here and everyone thinks I'm nuts! Allisons idea of using a journal from the hyster sisters store is the best! You'll be able to spot it easily because of the design! Karlene

One way to measure your progress is how many things you can do without having to rest in between. For instance, the first couple of days home, I couldn't wash my face and brush my teeth without resting between those two tasks. Now I can do the dishes, then go wash and brush, all with no intermediate stops at the recliner.

I wish I'd thought to keep a journal too. It would help when I get arund to writing and posting my "castle" story. But then again, I only discovered this website 3 days ago. Oh well.
