I am so frustrated!!!

Well, I had my endometrial biopsy yesterday, which sucked! Spent a lot of time talking with my doc, and he agrees that hysterectomy is my best option and that I cannot keep living with this pain and bleeding, which continues to worsen each month. Great news!

Then he tells me that the surgeon (who I am meeting with next week to discuss type of surgery, etc) is possibly booked solid through the end of July...I don't think I can deal with 3 more cycles!

Thanks princesses, I just needed to vent. I suppose if I have been dealing with this for 4-5 years, that I can't wait another 3 months, but having the end in site just makes it worse somehow.

Hi Susan!

I can sympathize with you totally about having to wait "in pain" until a busy surgeon can fit you into his/her schedule -- it's terribly stressful. And I "only" had to wait around two months! Each day I thought, "I'm never going to be able to hold out." I did have prescription pain meds, but still felt like my surgery date was never going to arrive.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you -- maybe you'll get lucky and there will be an opening sooner...let's hope. At least you'll have us Sisters to keep you company until your day comes.

There's nothing worse than waiting for relief when you're in pain! When you meet with the surgeon it may help if you tell him how uncomfortable you are and how difficult the wait seems. Sometimes they can move things around to accommodate you. When my doctor and I decided on march 23 that the next step was gonna be a hysterectomy I was told it would be august or september before they could get my in. To make a long story short, she ended up trading operating room time with another doctor so that she can do me sooner. I still have to wait until june 8 but that's a whole lot better than september!
Many time it's not that the surgeon is actually booked himself...it's that they don't have enough operating room time. It sure can't hurt to ask. I hope it all works out for you.

Thanks, both of you. I will talk to him next week and see what he can do. The one good thing is that my doctor put an indication in my file that I needed to go ASAP, as my problems were worsening and I had no scheduling conflicts to work around. So maybe the 2 combined will get me in sooner.

(((Susan)))
If things get too bad, give the doctor a call. My doctor had scheduled me about six weeks out. I cried when I heard the news, I told the nurse I couldn't wait that long. She told me to call if things got worse for me. I kept calling and calling. Finally, one day I could take no more and I just sobbed into the phone. I was scheduled for my hyst the following week.

Good luck Susan. I'm sending gentle s
