to all this weeks ladies in waiting!
Hello Sister,
I do have a question and since I may not see my doc again before I wake up maybe some of you can answer it.
I am having a LAVH/BSO and I wonder if there is much "bleeding" or draining vaginally.
Should I have pads or panty liners available?
and last but not least;
Has anyone had to drink Magnesium Sulfate before? Bad? Not so Bad? I'm dreading it worse than the surgery and that wonderful bowel cleansing and liquid diet starts at 5 am tomorrow morning. LOL
Thanks for any answers and I look forward to becoming a princess.
Jerri

Howdy, texgal54
I had a tvh on 11-10 of this year & the bleeding wasnt that bad at all! Your surgery is different so you may wish to wait to hear other responses!
I went & bought all kind of pads & have put them up for others use...
I mostly had drainage after I got home & it wasnt more than a panty liner a day...
Just my experience
AWWEE!! That drink is terrible...to me it tastes like a really bad orange crush, or a really bad milk of magnesia...something like that...
if you can drink whiskey, its nothing...but if you cant, you may wish that you could!!!
Try to remember that you are at the end of a long painful (I am sure) journey & this last little bit of difficulty is going to be worth living the rest of your life w/o the difficulties in the past (hope so anyway)
We are here! Vent all you want!

Hi Jerri,
Make sure the drink is VERY cold.....that helped me alot. It wasn't as bad as I was thinking it was gonna be. As far as pads, they supplied them in the hospital, and I think I only needed to change it once there. Then when I got home, it was only a panty liner that was needed for a few days. Now, no more pads !!!
Best of luck to you.....the waiting is the hardest part, really.

YUKKKKKKKKK!!!
For all who helped me with the drink all I can say is yuk and bring on the poop!!!!
I am sitting here with a belly full of magnesium citrate and I still have 1/4 bottle left. Don't think I can do it. It wants to come up not go down.
This is by far the hardest thing I have ever had to do. I am one of those people who can't just bring it up so the queezies kill me.
My daughter wants me to have a baseline colonoscopy but she can have it for me. I am not drinking this again.
I know, I know, I have to drink it. I'll go try.
You gals are all so wonderful.
TTYL ladies

Thanks for all the posts everyone--my surgery is Thursday, and I'm starting to get nervous. I just found out on Friday, so it's been a whirlwind. Can't wait to be done with it!
