got my date and scared

i have gotten my date. its september 30th. i am living in the netherlands and have posted on that part of the board as well. i am nervous and scared. it was my decision to have the hysterectomy but that doesn't take the fear out of it.

i had posted several months ago and someone had mentioned that if you keep the cervix to have the doctor catorize it or something like that. it was a burning of it so you don't get the bleeding from it.

does anyone know what i'm talking about? i don't know if i will be able to keep my cervix or not. the doc will know more when she gets in. i have a fibroid that is in a bad place and she is not sure if she can keep it or not. i will have it done abdominally.

if anyone can let me know what its called, the 'burning' of the cervix please let me know.

Yes, it is scary to know you are really going for the surgery! No doubt about it.

and living in a foreign country when you go through all this IS harder, I know from experience.

The procedure you are talking about is to seal the cervix and prevent the mini-periods, it can be done with cauterization or sometimes the dr can put a kind of mesh over the cervix which will seal it.
