Anyone have to take prescription to help dialate cervix?

Hi everyone. I noticed there are quite a few of us going in on the 27th of this month. My nerves are so shot I think I am actually calming down now since Monday is almost here. Tomorrow I have to do the bowel prep...which I do not think will be much of a problem since I almost have the diahrrea now from all the stress...lol. I also had to go pick up a couple of prescriptions and have to take those starting today. One is an antibiotic and the other is to help dialate my cervix. Has anyone else had to take something to help dialate their cervix? I also have had the worst luck this week and on top of that I started my period 5 days early so that was an unwanted surprise. Best of luck to all of us who are going on Monday and thank you to everyone else for any support and or encouragement you have given to those of us who have been very very nervous...well, actually scared out of our minds about all of this.

Re: Anyone have to take prescription to help dialate cervix?

Hi Koshari, best wishes for Monday! Prior to my D&C back in December I had to insert a medication into my v to help soften my cervix. I am not sure if this is what your asking about. It was a very tiny pill that I inserted at bedtime, and within 30 minutes I began to feel slight cramping similar to that of the early stage of labor. Which is what it is suppose to do....other than that there were no side effects to medication. WIshing you a speedy recovery!!
