DiVinci "robot"

Got my hysterectomy scheduled. Found a doctor in Denver who uses what is called the DiVinci robot-it is the newest in lap. hysterectomies. Minimally invasive. I didn't want to do it the traditional way, so I HOPE this is the best option. Just wondering if anyone else has gone this route. I have fibroids, blah, blah, blah. Over making babies, so that isn't an issue. I feel good about the decision, it is always a risk.....I know that. I hope it is all good!!!

I will be having the same procedure, and am hoping for a smooth recovery! There is a post-op forum somewhere on this site devoted to Da Vinci success stories - I found it to be very encouraging reading. Good luck with your surgery!

Hi there! I had a regular laparoscopic surgery, but I know that there are lots and lots of women here who have had daVincis. You are definitely not alone! About 7 years ago, my Dad had a prostatectomy using the daVinci method, so it has been around for a while. I wish you all the best!!

By the way, the newest hysterectomy type is SILS or LESS--both using only one incision!

WOW! Just finished looking thru the posts from other ladies who did the Davinci....I feel a ton better! I am a slow recoverer....found that out when I had my breast reduction earlier this year. So, I am glad that this the route I can take.....less down time. Thanks for all the info!

I will be having my sugery on Oct 21 via Davinci. I have done a ton of research on this method along with reading all of the threads and I am feeling really good about the decision I have made in doing it this way. May milk it for a little while just so I won't have to do to much housework

Hahahah, right? I do love my forced downtime!

Hello ladies, I am 5 weeks post via the da Vinci method and rest assured you will be glad you chose this method. I had general anesthesia with a morphine pump after surgery and I never had any pain from the moment I woke up from surgery. (Well gas pains were pretty bad on about day 4 but no pain from incisions, etc.) My DR used the glue to close the small incisions and I must say you can hardly see where they were already!

I will warn though that you will feel pretty good fairly quick so do NOT overdo it! As the other ladies on this site will say, remember you had a major surgery. Rest and let yourself heal!!

As you said it's "forced" so no feeling guilty, just take advantage
