6 days post-op
Had a TAH on 1-31 orginial time 3:00, but got pushed ahead to 1:00 (two less hours of waiting) Only under about one hour, everything went very smoothly.Back in room had problem with the cath. not draining right. and could not get ahead of the pain until an angel of a nurse came on duty. She got my pain undercontrol, rearranged the cath. and keep a very good eye on me. After the cath. was removed on thursday, bladder would not funtion, but that angel nurse pulled out all the stops to help me pee and avoid having another cath put in. Gas rumbled all day friday, passed alittle, Doctor released me. Sat,Sun, and Mon, gas very painful(Doctor said no GasX,let nature take it's course) Today MAJOR IMPROVEMENT gas passed, first BM (not painful) Now I can rest comfortabley and just heal. We each heal at our own pace. And thank god for angels on earth. I was lucky enough to have had two great nursed while I was in, thanks. QM
