Scared after reading rectocele surgery post

I have the strange feeling that is now my new problem. My dr. was supposed to do bladder and rectum during my surgery, but said my bladder went into place after she removed my uterus. I'm assuming she tried to fix my rectum, but now am wondering. When I need to have a BM, i feel like my vagina is so full.(sorry if that's TMI) and I can't really have a BM without alot of straining. I've started back on stool softners in case that might help. I really don't want to have another surgery now, because I am feeling great otherwise. My energy level is back to normal. I'm just afraid if this gets any worse, my rectum will bulge out of my vagina. I guess I will try to find a uro gyn after Hurricane Rita gets out of Texas. I'm in Conroe, but we get flooded in if it rains more than 12 inches or so....If anyone else has other info about this, I would appreciate it. It's too embarassing to talk about with anyone else. I had to let DH know something is up because he thinks we can have sex by this weekend and I don't want to mess anything else up down there. Thanks for listening...I feel better now.....

Scared after reading rectocele surgery post

I had only an anterior repair with my hyst; my doc said we would look at the rectocole issue at a later date if necessary, but felt that correcting the uterine prolapse would improve the situation considerably. He was concerned that if he did too much all at once that in my case it would make life pretty uncomfortable for me sexually. So far so good, but I can still notice a slight problem. Metamucil (soluble fibre drink) is my new best friend and as long as I keep up with it I've been good.
I'l be really interested to know if there is anyone out there who has had subsequent rectocole surgery? Surely it can't be as demanding recovery wise as a TAH or TVH?

Hang in there Paco. ((hug))

I think u should call the Dr. All of the straining you mention is really bad for your pelvic floor. Are you on stool softeners? Do you drink at least 8 oz of water every single waking hour? Tried prunes? Figs? Walking?
