12 week post op - discomfort after exercising

I had a total hysterectomy 12 wks ago Oct 28th 2009. I am doing great and have never felt better. I started working out hard last Sat, wanting to get those extra pounds off that crept up on me while I was down. The last couple of days I have had some discomfort (not pain) on my right side. I can't figure out what i...s causing it. I would think after 12 weeks I would be totally healed. I have been cleared to work out since 4 wks. took it easy the first few weeks back in. I can't find any post op information for this far out. Anyone have suggestions?

When my Dr released me for normal activity, she added "as tolerated". It takes about a year for everything internal to be healed. Maybe you need to back off a little bit, and build up slowly to the hard workouts?

You did not say what type of surgery you had- if it was abdominal, you may be feeling the pulling of some scar tissue. Are you lifting weights? It took me 6 months to get back to my normal workout (I also work out hard).

I want to mention that I've always had pain on my right side (in front) after not working out for a while, it is due to my back (my si joint) get's locked up and my hip flexor too. I am having lower back pain and right front pain and I'm hoping that it will resolve as I'm more able to stretch and get better alignment. Just something to think about that you can feel back pain in front when hip flexor is involved. Good luck!
