In extreme pain after intercourse

I am 6 weeks post op from a TAH. My husband and I had sex for the first time last night. It went well, but almost immediately afterwards, I started experiencing horrible pain in my lower abdomen. Slight bleeding, but nothing significant. I couldn't even stand up, I thought I had done some internal damage. DH took me to ER, but we left without being seen because the pain had lessened where I could at least breathe normally and think straight. Today I am still really sore, it feels like my insides are bruised and my belly is swollen like it was a few days after surgery. Is this something anyone has experienced? Since it is a holiday weekend I cant be seen untill Tuesday by my doctor.

The few times I've read ladies having symptoms like yours after intercourse, they had a torn vaginal cuff. You need to call your doctor's office. They should have an after hours call service than can relay your message to the doctor on call.

My suggestion would be to go back to the ER. If it were me, I'd be afraid of internal bleeding. I hope you feel better soon.

For a while after my surgery sex was a little painful and very uncomfortable. It took some time for it to be enjoyable again for me. I had nothing like you are describing. I think I would go back to the er or call your doctors office and have the nurse call you back.
