Did anyone else get photos of their hysterectomy?

Yes, I got pics while I was still in the hospital. The nurse handed them to my husband and told him, "This is why we had to cut her open like we did." My uterus did look really big and angry red, and one pic was of it cut open so we could see the cancer.

Also viewed a disc of my exploratory surgery from 7 weeks before the surgery: the first being the hysteroscopy showing the inside of my uterus, and the second was of the exploratory abdominal cavity. That's where she showed my my bowel, my ovaries, and the top of my uterus. That was all pretty cool actually.

I got pictures too - i would have loved a video - i also collect animal specimens and taxidermy so part of me really wanted it all to keep in a specimen jar. But i opted not to ask - i said it jokingly in pre-op and the weird giggles told me it was too strange of a request. Lol

My doctor took a few pictures and showed them to me the next day. He was surprised when I asked if he'd send them to me. Fascinating to see the lump that caused all that grief. He took the picture next to a ruler so it is clear how big the mass was. 19 cm. Glad it is out!

My doc knew I wanted copies of any pictures he took.

The first time I met my surgeon I had a folder full of every test, every procedure, and pictures from my previous lap.

I'm sure he thought I was odd, but I was not leaving his office without him saying he would do the surgery.

My uterus looked like a mad alien, and I'm glad that thing is gone!

My doctor gave us pictures of the surgery also. It is interesting to see.

Wow. I got photos of my uterus and it cut open showing the cysts. I didn't even think about asking for pics of inside me after it was out.

Lol, I didn't necessarily ask for them, but my surgeon said right before I was wheeled into the OR we'll be sure to take plenty of pics, and sure enough when I woke up, my hubs showed me the pics of before and after LAVH.

My doctor gave me a picture of my uterus and fibros. I didn't even ask for it.

what a great idea, thought I'd be a nutter if I asked Post op appointment on Wed, so will ask him now if he took any

Yes!!! They are fascinating. I wish I had been there initially when my Dr. was explaining it all. Christmas card??? 😜
